A recent article in The New York Times has admitted what other researchers have been pointing out online for months: the tests used to detect the newly identified coronavirus are seriously flawed and significantly overstate how many people are infected with quantities of the virus that are likely to cause disease and be contagious, and even overstate how many are still infected at all at the time of the test.
